Auto Accident Settlement
You buy auto insurance to protect yourself in the unlikely event you get into an accident. You want, and need, the financial resources offered by an auto insurance policy to help restore you to pre-loss conditions. For major accidents auto insurance is very important, but for small dents and fender benders it may not always be a good idea to submit a claim. If you are involved in an auto accident with injuries and major damage, you should always report that claim. But if your accident is a small dent, you are not legally required to submit the claim. We always recommend you call our office if you are involved in any accident. We can help you through the process and answer any question you may have.

Minor Accidents With No Injuries And Minor Damage
- Exchange information.
- Never admit fault.
- Always call our office for help.
- If the accident is your fault, get a mechanic’s estimate for repairs first, before you decide to pay out of pocket.
- Remember, settling the accident only benefits the at-fault driver. If you are not at fault, be careful before agreeing to any payment with the at-fault party. Only accept certified checks or cash. Never agree to long term payments.
- If you hit your own mail box and have little damage, it may be best to not submit a claim. Insurance is better suited for larger claims; not the small stuff.
- It is always best to take your vehicle to your trusted repair shop to get an estimate. Don’t agree to have the at-fault party fix the damage. This holds true even for relatives.
Major Accidents

- Never allow the at-fault party to convince you to take your vehicle to their repair shop.
- Call our office.
- If the at-fault party does not return your calls, report the claim to the insurer.
